I am grad student and I will be attending a seminar at Yale for 3 nights in May. The more affordable, the better! I will be flying in and hopefully NOT renting a car unless I have too. Does anyone know the area? I need to be very close to Yale%26#39;s campus (walking distance) and if you have any other tips about New Haven like, where to eat, activities, and how to get to the area from the airport affordably that would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Lodging near Yale
The New Haven Hotel is at 229 George Street. A lot of Yale departments use them when having conferences, etc. The rooms are not luxurious, but fairly nice and clean. The rooms go for about $105/night, but sometimes on expedia or orbitz there a little less.
It%26#39;s in walking distance to Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale University. CT Limo has shuttles to/from Bradley or the New York airports daily. They can drop you off right at Yale (Phelps Gate).
Upper Chapel Street near the unviersity has some of the best restaurants, little eateries, galleries, and shops. Mostely for the Yalies and visitors. In May, the weather down in Connecticut and Long Island is really nice, that old Bermuda High is still not too ugly (lol). Temps should be in the mid 70%26#39;s and sunny. But bring shorts and T%26#39;s - becuse the heat and humidity sometimes starts early, and you%26#39;ll be roasting in humid 90 F heat walking down Chapal Street.
Good luck!
