Hi,
I am university professor from Malaysia. I will be spending my sabbatical at UConn from Oct 2006 to March 2007. I was wondering if anyone in this forum can give me information on apartments that I can rent. Really appreciate your help.

Looking for apartment October through March 2007 near UConnI live right near campus and have lived here for most of my life, I%26#39;m not sure how close you would like to be or if you wanted to be able to take the campus shuttle, but I would reccomend apartments called Holinko Apartments. The only bad side of it is that there are parties right down the road that get pretty loud, but the police don%26#39;t allow students to park or party in Holinko, so it is pretty safe over there. I%26#39;m not sure of the prices, or of the openings, but you can check it out, anything else, let me know!
Looking for apartment October through March 2007 near UConnThanks Ashy063,
Do you know how I will be able to contact the Holinko Apartments to find out more about the rent and other amenities? I tried the website but it appears that a third party is involved in letting out the apartments which I am quite suspicious about.

Will you have a car while your here? That will help determine location, etc...

Hi Mini,
Thanks for the website. I have been offered a %26#39;twin bed%26#39; bedroom (can anyone explain what this means) in the UConn campus for US850. Is the price too expensive?

Is it just a room in someone else%26#39;s house or is it a whole apartment with a twin bed?? A twin bed is a small bed with just enough room for 1 person. I would say that 850$ is a lot for just a room but if it is an apartment to yourself, than that is a good price. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
I agree, if that price is just for %26#39;a room%26#39; it is VERY HIGH. Keep looking.....

Hi Ashy063 and minivanmomof2,
Thanks for your help. I found out that I have been offered a double bed and a twin bed (must be in 2 rooms, I presume) and the apartment is fully furnished. And it is Northwood, I think (anyone knows where this is?) So is US850 reasonable?
Thanks again,

I did a quick search of %26#39;Northwood Apartments in CT%26#39; and found one here in Newington, where I live. Did I get the right place? If so, $850/month for a 2BR apt is not bad at all.
Let me know....
Naomi :-)
