I am planning a trip to Mystic over the Thanksgiving weekend and I am trying to find a place to stay. I don%26#39;t want to stay in a major chain hotel/motel. I am looking for an inn or B%26amp;B that is within walking distance to most if not all major sights. Something with a private bath that is clean and elegant while still allowing me to maintain a budget. I am looking for somewhere that will be under $300 a night. I should probably mention that this trip is for my boyfriend and I and we are in out mid-twenties. I should also probably mention that we have never stayed in a B%26amp;B before either. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!
Need a place to stay...
We stayed at the Whalers Inn last year. Their website is http://www.whalersinnmystic.com/
As far as location is concerned, it couldn%26#39;t be better. It%26#39;s right in the heart of Mystic, next to the drawbridge. The price should be well within your budget and, if my memory is concerned a continental breakfast was included. We found the room to be reasonably sized with a comfortable bed and a good, clean bathroom.
Enjoy yout trip. By the way, Mystic Pizza is a real place, not just a movie and their pizzas are really good - worth a visit.

Thank you so much for the information. Unfortunately most of the places I called including the one you mentioned are booked for at least one of the nights we plan to be in town. I did manage to book a room at the steamboat inn. I booked room one/ariande. The reviews as well as the pictures were positive. I do however plan to make a visit to mystic pizza. I love pizza and it would be neat to go there. I visited Berlin, Md and ate in the cafe featured in Runaway Bride so this would be kind of like continuing a tradition.
The Steamboat Inn is also in a great location. It%26#39;s on the other side of the drawbridge from the Whaler%26#39;s Inn. I%26#39;m glad you managed to get booked in the downtown area, rather than in one of the chain hotels further out.
There%26#39;s a great ice cream shop on the other side of Main Street from your inn and there are a couple of good pubs just around the corner. It%26#39;s a pretty small town so you don%26#39;t need to worry about driving back after a couple of pints of Guinness!
A little way out from downtown, don%26#39;t forget to visit Olde Mistick Village for speciality shops and the nearby Aquarium. Above all, have a great time!
Thanks for the advice/tips! I%26#39;m glad I found a good spot and I am looking forward to my trip.
