Fall Foliage and suggestions for attractions

Looking to make a trip to new england to see the leaves change. Would imagine the best time would be in a few weeks, but any advice would be appreciated. Will have about 5 days to tour around, so we could take in quite a bit in several states. Any advice for tourist attractions in Connecticut and best week to come (for fall foliage) would be appreciated. Will likely go out to the coast as well as inland. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

If you click on the fall foliage link, it will give you an idea of the colors. Also some great drive ideas.

mid Oct. is probably prime time in Ct, depending on the weather. To see the coast southeastern CT - Mystic area is probably best. Scenic areas in NW and NE. Visit a Ct. fair http://www.ctfairs.org/fair_map.aspx.

How was your trip? Late October was right this year for peak foliage in Southern CT.
