Mystic Aquarium Institue for Exploration

I see they have a swim with a Beluga whale program as well as a meet the penguins program. I was wondering if anyone had done either of these and what they thought of them as well as the aquarium. We will be stopping in Mystic for just the aquarium on our way to Canada. I have a 10 %26amp; 12yr old.

Also are there any nice campgrounds within a 20min or so drive?

me and my family went to mystic aquarium two years ago we found it to be a great place quite large and plenty to look at we are planning a return visit this yaer the beluga whales are beautiful but we never did the meeting program ,well worth a visit

We skipped the penguin program but I did do the Beluga whale contact program-I loved it!! It was pretty amazing to be able to touch something that large. The staff was great %26amp; the whales were very calm %26amp; well trained. A lot of money but I would do it over again. The aquarium also had a nice Titanic exhibit that the family enjoyed. The Coral Reef exhibit was also very beautiful.

Nobody liked the XC motion ride theater though. It was a little rough %26amp; boring.

I agree with the last post, we (our sons are 8 1/2 %26amp; 12) visited Mystic Aquarium a few months ago and were very disappointed with the XD Motion Theater. Very short. It%26#39;s over before you know it, I think you spend more time waiting to get in. Nothing special :-(
