New Haven over Thanksgiving

I%26#39;ve just arrived from the UK for a month at Yale and my husband is joining me for the Thanksgiving weekend. I guess most of the museums etc will be closed for the holiday so any suggestions of what we could do instead? We won%26#39;t have a car but it would be nice to get to the coast perhaps. Will that be do-able by public transport? Where would be good to go to? Any recommendations very welcome!! Many thanks

You could do a bus trip to the Casinos - or take the train into Manhattan for the day - The Christmas lights should be going up and the city is full of activities.

Also, look at the train schedules for Metro North and Shoreline East - they might land you in a coastal destination.

Sturbridge Village is the quintessential New England historic site. You would have to rent a car. Public transportation is terrible in the US. Above suggestions are good ones or you could go to Old Sturbridge Village. ::
