Thali-Indian Restaurant

If you%26#39;re looking for a unique and relaxing lunch or dinner, you really can%26#39;t beat the Thali (Indian influence) Restaurant in downtown New Canaan.

Located in an old brick bank building, the interior is industrial and zen-like. A suspended waterfall runs down a glass river above dinner%26#39;s heads. (it%26#39;s hard to describe, but very cool) and the sound of falling water adds to ambience of the place.

The wait staff is fantastic and attentive. When I could not make up my mind, the hostess gave me several good suggestions. First as an appetizer, the chicken tikka kabobs. Then Lamb Rosh, served with basmati. I also had a nan bread that was had a slightly sweet topping, that looked orange/pink. Everything was great.

It was also interesting to note the customers at Thali. I was dinning alone. There was a family with small children. And a business dinner of 4. It seemed to appeal to all.

Thali-Indian Restaurant

I agree that Thali is a good place to dine but it is also quite expensive for Indian food. U really dont have much choices while in New Canaan but if u dont mind driving a little, try the one in Darien -%26gt; Coromoandel Cuisine of India. They serve a buffet which may be a little pricey for a buffet but well worth it coz of the spread/choices as well as quality.

Enjoy !
