My wife and I will be travelling in Mid-April from DC back home to Maine and would like to stop about halfway between - that%26#39;s CT State (or NY). We%26#39;d like something to do for an afternoon/evening.
This sounds like a dumb open-ended question, but it%26#39;s really puzzling us. We don%26#39;t want to ';just stop and sleep'; we%26#39;d like to do something or see something or... something!
So - any ideas you have to connect us to Connecticut would be appreciated.
Thanks much!
-Michael
Something to do in CT (not for 18 year olds!)
I would stop in Mystic - you could do the aquarium or the seaport, or shop and antique in the area. Most of the hotels offer free shuttles to the casinos, so you could head over there for dinner and some gambling.

Hi Michael,
I agree with SUZ.... The Mystic/Stonington area is a nice place to stop, half-way in-between. There%26#39;s certainly enough to keep you busy for a day in Mystic. The Seaport Museum, the Aquarium, lots of great shops and restaurants. Or you can stay in nearby Stonington (only four miles away). It%26#39;s a quaint historic vilage. You can tour the Lighthouse Museum, shop for antiques and have lunch at Skipper%26#39;s Dock and view all of the sailboats in the harbor. Stonington has two great wineries as well, if you%26#39;re into wine tasting, and of course, Foxwoods Casino. Check out the area website www.mysticmore.com
