Considering stopping at Ocean beach park on a weekend to new England. Is it safe and nice? Thanks

Well the park has seen better days thats for sure. But its safe reasonablely clean and stil a nice stretch of beach.

Took the kids there last summer. The place is pretty shabby, old, lots of peeling paint, broken things, etc.

Has a very old arcade and tiny ';amusement park.'; The food at the snack bar was lousy. The beach is ok, but that%26#39;s about it.

You mean to tell me they actually still have rides there? Last time I was there was on a field trip in camp, probably about 25 years ago.

I%26#39;m not surprised though to hear that it%26#39;s gone downhill, that%26#39;s what I had heard years ago.... Can only imagine what it looks like now.

Too bad that it they can%26#39;t fix the place up. So much potential...

As of last summer the ';rides'; were still there. They are set up in such a weird way that they more resemble the rides at a very small carnival or fair. The place needs a big facelift...

Geez, I was there for my first time 2 years ago with my kids and I didnt think the place was that bad. We basically just used the beach and also they went on the water slides. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. If you want to stop at a nice beach, I%26#39;d recommend Silver Sands State Park in Milford or Hamonassett State Park

Not bad... the place is having the boardwalk redone as we speak the rides are mostly gone from what I remember. Boston Concessions does the food so they are ok. Head on foot toward Waterford Beach and enjoy the views.

Ocean Beach Park is a great family park. Rides, mini golf, new spray park, beautiful beach and more. I bring all three of my children, 13, 7 and 4 and they all love it. It is well worth a trip.

The beach was nice and safe. The part of the boardwalk not being worked on was nice. Theres a huge pool on the beach thats nice. We did not care for the water slide or the price to use it. Overall its nice if just hanging out on the beach is sufficient. Bathrooms and showers were dirty and rundown though.

Waterford Beach...views??? Well, if you like looking at the Power Plant......

I visited ocean Beach Park in August and thought it was ok. They were totally replacing Boardwalk which was badly needed. Beach and water were very clean. Nice covered area on boardwalk for shade. Amusement rides were mostly for very small kids and carnival like. Water slide was fun but understaffed. Could use an extra monitor for safety.Check into passes for shorter time periods. Kids get worn out going up and down stairs fast. We skipped the pool because once you paid the entry fee you could not leave pool and return. It looked clean and nice but not worth the extra money. Arcade was old but a lot of fun. Very big and lots of old time arcade games. Mini golf was in need of updating but after 5p.m. it was only $1 so well worth it if you are not a serious player. The bathrooms were clean and snack bar average. I would go back again because the kids had agreat time. There was even car show that evening that was free and fun to check out.
