Vintage Car Race, and more CT??

Hi CT Lovers~ My husband and I are driving our old convertible south from Boston to attend the BMW Rolex Vintage Car race on September 3 in Lakeville, CT (NW corner of the state). We have no other plans made yet, so we basically have August 31 to September 2. Can you help? Should we make a day of Block Island? We have no kids and although we are budget minded, we are willing to splurge on great B and B%26#39;s ($150 to $180) and activities. We love kayaks, bikes and hikes. We would probably spend a few hours at a nice beach as well. My hope is that we can stay in one place for three nights, and then move a little more north for the car race. Last year we stayed at a horrible B and B in Litchfield, so we hope to do better this time. Maybe Danbury? We appreciate your help!

Vintage Car Race, and more CT??

Thanks Timeshare Bob! I checked out the link and it brought me right to Abbey%26#39;s Lantern Hill Inn. It looks wonderful and the reviews are all good over a long period of time. Awesome, thanks again, Now that I have lodging settled I can get planning on things to do. I think for the one night near the race, we will just settle for a Hampton Inn. I always hate to distrub B and B owners for just one night...

Heres some ideas .... all south east CT !

Thank you Time Share Bob! I checked out all of these web sites and each activity looks great. I think we will do Thimble Cruises, Essex train and boat and enjoy the lobster restaurant suggestion. We will save Block Island for another time. We love the water, so we may look to either kayak or take a half day fishing trip. We are not big museum or shopping people. We prefer the outdoors, so your suggestions are perfect! We have done the CT River Valley and LOVED it, so this time we will hug the coast. If you have any other suggestions for restaurants or other thoughts, we appreciate it! Cheers
