We%26#39;ll be staying in Mystic for one night. What restaurants would you recommend in the under $20.00 entree range? Anything with steak, chicken, fish, would be fine.
Restaurants
You can check out this web site that has links to restraurants www.mysticcountry.com.
S%26amp;P Oyster averages around $20. It%26#39;s on the river downtown by the drawbridge and has nice views. Steak loft is by Olde Mystick village next to I95 also around same price range. I don%26#39;t know prices for Bravo Bravo or Azul, both downtown mystic buy they have their menues posted outside. Also there%26#39;s Go Fish, they do fish really well, but the sides are uninspiring. Sushi is good.
Overall considering food, service, and view I%26#39;d go to S%26amp;P Oyster.
Restaurants
Mystic Pizza is a classic - they based the movie Mystic Pizza off this place.
Mystic Pizza is pretty mediocre in my opinion. It%26#39;s not bad but it isn%26#39;t great. We%26#39;ll sometimes go there for lunch if we are in the area for shopping but I wouldn%26#39;t necessarily head there on a special trip, as parking also needs to be factored into the equation. Though you will certainly stay under your $20 entree benchmark there.
We like Go Fish a lot and if you are visiting for a night it is probably closer to where you are staying. IMost hotels are right off I-95 near Olde Mystick Village which is where Go Fish is located. If you happen to be staying right downtown (i.e. Whaler%26#39;s Inn) then Mystic Pizza is closer but there are other restaurants nearby as well.
Rice, Spice Noodle is very good if you%26#39;re in the mood for thai/asian fusion. We found S%26amp;P to have mediocre food (really really bad pasta dishes!!) but a nice atmosphere and beautiful view. While they have entrees under $20 you will certainly end up spending much more than that per person.
A great choice if you want something casual is Abbott%26#39;s Lobster in Noank. They have a small indoor dining room but if the weather is fine you will want to eat under the tent or at one of the tables on the deck overlooking the harbor. It is BYOB and you may also want to bring a tablecloth and silverware. Their lobsters are excellent and very reasonable (though perhaps more than $20) and they also have great steamers, mussels and clear chowder. It%26#39;s a fun place with great quality food.
