Our ladies group plans to take a trip next October to Hartford Ct. We would like to rent some cars and travel the roads and enjoy the scenery and fall leaves. We have only 3 full days. We would like to drive around the state and stay at some BB%26#39;s. Any suggestions to get us started?

I would suggest a tour of LItchfield county and another of Northeasten CT. You will pass through Hartford on the trip between the two. For B and Bs try http://www.nutmegbb.com/Northeast.htm. The state also has suggested foliage tours: http://www.tourism.state.ct.us/

I would suggest a visit to the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts while you%26#39;re in Hartford. It is a beautiful historic theater and free tours are offered (I%26#39;m a tour guide at the theater!). We had a ladies group visit today that really enjoyed the tour. Check out bushnell.org for performances at your time of visit. The state capitol also offers wonderful free tours. You might enjoy a visit to the Wadsworth Anthenemum art museum too. There is a wonderful restaurant in the museum.
I would also suggest Mystic,CT. It is a beautiful town with a lovely shopping village, many restaurants, an aquarium and a seaport. It is less than 90 minutes from Hartford.
Have a great visit!
If you are willing to go outside CT, you can go to Salem, Massinchusetts in October. Great month to go browse the Bizarre, Bazaar downtown and all the Halloween Happenings!
if your coming to see the foliage, then thecountry towns to drive through would include Woodstock, %26amp; Pomfret. Putnam is good for antiques shopping. These are North east Connecticut country towns. You will surely run into country farm stands. These towns are about a 45 minute ride north of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos.
