We are taking a New England Cruise end of Sept. Any suggestions as to what to do in New London or close surrounding areas? Not really into the real touristy things. We really want to see New England, as much as we can from a cruise ship point of view.
What to do in New LondonWell New London is know for a tourist hub for transportation, the buses, the ferries and the train along with cruises. New London is coming along in it%26#39;s revitalization of the main downtown area and would be nice to grab lunch, but I can%26#39;t say it%26#39;s typical New England as such. Mystic and Stonington are not too far away and can be touristy because they are beautiful. It depends on what you want to see. There is the Mystic Seaport and Aquariam and the Drawbridge has shops and in olde Mystic is Clydes Cider Mill. Stonington has some Vineyards and thr Borough has a cute seaside landscape with shops. Of course our area is now dominated by two casinos which people flock to. It all depends how much time you have to spend in the area. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to help as I am from the area.
Enjoy your trip.
