What is your suggestion for the best seafood resturant in the area? It doesn%26#39;t matter if it is upscale or casual.
Thanks!
Best Seafood Restaurant?
I can only talk about seafood restaurants in the Hartford area and I can tell you that the Chowder Pot with a location at 165 Brainard Road in the south meadows section of Hartford and a location at 560 East Main Street in Brandford (along the CT shoreline) has been a CT favorite for years. They offer great seafood, clam chowder, dinner shows, and happy hour.

Another seafood restaurant (upscale) called Sally%26#39;s Fish Camp just opened a few months ago in downtown Hartford at 201 Allyn Street. This is a very trendy restaurant with a bar and should offer some great food.

Best Seafood Restaurant?
The Seahorse Tavern in Noank, 5 minutes west of downtown Mystic. Casual, crowde with locals, best seafood in the area
S%26amp;P Oyster has really good seafood. The lobster alfredo is great. Anthony J%26#39;s is not a seafood restaurant per se, but has an excellent chef and really good seafood. The Fisherman in Groton Long point is terrific.
If you want to stay in the town of Mystic, there is a nice spot near the flagpole called Anthony J%26#39;s. They specialize in pasta and seafoods.
Outside of town, I agree with the post about Seahorse. There are two sides to the place, the grungy blue jean side and the quieter, slightly more formal side, but you can ask for the same menu wherever you sit.
Enjoy!
Lenny and Joes Fishtale in Madison or Westbrook on Rt 1 is really good. It is casual and the food is great. They are also known for their t-Shirts which you will see all over the world once you learn to recognize them. They have a photo gallery on their website. This place is fantastic- worth the little drive. Also on route 1 in Westbrook is New Deal Steak Place- stop into the bar and order from the happy hour menu b/t 4-6pm. This will be a gluttonous stop- be prepared.
I dont know why folks are telling you about Madison or Westbrrok. If the question is about the Mystic area:
Anthony J%26#39;s is a fun Italian restuarant that has some interesting seafood selections
I second the recommendation for the Seahorse in Noank
My favorite Clam shack is Costello%26#39;s in Noank (end of Pearl Street). Location and ambiance is better than the decent food.
For a fancy night outm BOOM in Stonington is the best.
S%26amp;P Oyster is OK for drinks on the deck but I think it is way overpriced for the quality of the food.
Can not go wrong with The Daniel Packard
I was going to ask what area you were referring to until I realized that it was listed under the Mystic Forum. I think many didnt pick that up...
I can say that we had a great dinner at Go Fish in Mystic. any Chowder Pot is also good.
