Looks like De La Mar is the best option, but so many negative reviews on this site!
Based on reviews, the second best option looks like the Stamford Marriott Courtyard - is that actually a better choice than the Marriott Stamford?
I also see a Hyatt Regency, but reviews aren%26#39;t positive.
And a Chesterfield Inn, but no web site available.
Is that it?
Is there a truly good hotel in Greenwich/Stamfor/Darien?What are you considering a truly good hotel? Everyone%26#39;s definition is different - Courtyard Marriott is new, and centrally located for an easy walk to nightlife, restaurants, train, etc... There is also the Radisson, Sheraton, Holiday Inn,...
Is there a truly good hotel in Greenwich/Stamfor/Darien?Maybe I should phrase the question differently. If budget was not an issue, which of the options would you choose?
It depends on what you are looking for - I don%26#39;t know much about the De La Mar, but it is a little out of the way - if you have a car, fine - otherwise, not the best option.
For easiest access to shopping, the train, restaurants, etc... I would go with the Courtyard Marriott = Rooms are nice and comfy, and the location is right in town and great. If you want seclusion, the De La Mar seems like a better option.
Other good options would be the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, or the Stamford Sheraton
I would opt for the Hyatt Regency. It%26#39;s 5 minutes from downtown Stamford and 10 minutes from Greenwich ave in Greenwich. It%26#39;s a beautiful hotel with a huge lobby/atrium and Winfields is a nice restaurant. Definately rent a car as there isn%26#39;t much within walking distance.
Thanks -- I think that%26#39;s what we%26#39;ll do. I got a bit confused because there were so many bad reviews of the Hyatt Regency. Oddly, more good reviews of Courtyard Marriott which is generally a lesser property.
If money is no object, try the Homestead Inn in Greenwich, CT: relaischateaux.com/en/…homestead
