We are going to the Impressionist exhibit at the Hartford museum and are looking for a couple of suggestions for a nearby lunch place. Doesn%26#39;t need to be fancy, even good deli sandwiches would be fine.
Place for lunch
There is a good variety of places to eat downtown. It all depends on your taste and budget. There is a good mexican place called Agave: http://www.agavehartford.com/
Other than that I might suggest walking down Pratt Street which is not far from the Wadsworth and checking out the places to eat there. They have a deli, irish place, and some others. I hear that lunch is also good in the museum itself. Just FYI there is a Titanic relics exhibt at the XL Center, Hartford Civic Center, that I hear is pretty good. You might want to check that out while you%26#39;re here.
Place for lunch
The cafe in the Atheneum does serve nice lunches. If you want a deli sandwich go out the front door of the museum and walk a half a block south (left) On the corner is Cornerstone Deli where you line up for a sandwich or grinder, pay and take your meal to a table. Often crowded with office workers 11:30- 12:30. Good Italian in the restaurant in the Marriott Hotel a block east or at Peppercorn%26#39;s two blocks south. Walk downtown to Max Downtown on Asylum for upscale.
Cross Main Street, head down Gold Street one long block towards Bushnell Park. Bear right to Trumbull Street - Vito%26#39;s on the Park is right there. Great place for lunch.
