First Time to Foxwoods - A few questions

We usually go to AC. It takes us 2.5 hrs and it looks like Foxwoods is the same amount of time. We are going May 30 to see Seinfeld and have booked a room at Two Trees for $166.50. Rate does not seem to bad. Any other DECENT hotel / motels in the area that would be a better deal?

How are the restaurants at Foxwoods? Looking for entrees in the $20 area. Suggestions on site? What about in the surrounding area?

How is Foxwoods for comping rooms once you start playing there a little bit. We get comped pretty regularly in AC for off weekend nights. Does Foxwoods comp rooms?

Any freebies for first timers going to Foxwoods? Any web links I should check out?

Thanks for the info.

The only other nearby hotel is the Hilltop Inn and Suites. They are very nice rooms, but I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll get a better price.

The restaurants change often, but this isn%26#39;t AC...This is the only show in town (along with Mohegan Sun). You will pay more than $20 for a decent entree.

Get yourself a Wampum card when you arrive. Show it to the pit boss before you gamble, or place it into the slot machines. Unless you are a high roller, the only way to get a free room is to accumulate points on your Wampum card. I usually play $50 a hand at Blackjack for 4-5 hours and will probably accumulate 30-40 dollars on my Wampum card for it.

I am not aware of any freebies.

You can also try Bellissimo Grande in North Stonington. It is the closest hotel to Foxwoods. Very nice rooms and great rates, though weekends can be expensive.

There are locals places in North Stonington to eat as well. Restaurants at Foxwoods are good, but a bit expensive, just like any casino. There is a Hard Rock Cafe there that is good.

You%26#39;ll need to give Foxwoods some serious play to get a comped room. We get offers for reduced and free rooms, but have been playing there for 12+ years.

foxwoods buffet is pretty decent, there is also a california pizza kitchen, fuddruckers, veranda cafe, which has a reasonable menu and a chinese and mexican restaurant with reasonable prices.

I checked the rates on the Bellissimo, $129 Sicilian, $169 Venetian. Price not being the issue, which one would you suggest, Two Trees or Bellissimo.

I%26#39;d stick with Two Trees, since the price is pretty close. Two Trees gives you the convenience of being on Foxwoods property and having access to the 24 hour shuttle.

If you get a Waumpum Card and give them some play, you%26#39;ll get regular offers for Two Trees in the $69 a night range, mid-week. It%26#39;s a nice property.

I%26#39;ll chime in about things to do in the surrounding area. If you like wine then you%26#39;ll want to check out the Jonathan Edwards winery:

This is pretty close to the casino and has very good red wine. There is also a Custy%26#39;s all you can eat seafood (lobster) buffett in the same general vicinity.

MGM at Foxwoods is opening up on 5/17/08...you could always stay there....

just to keep you up to speed wampon cards are now Dream cards. be sure to check out the indian museum next to foxwoods.
