Best Pizza in CT?

I%26#39;ve seen this topic in the Italy forums and I know people have their opinions here in CT. I%26#39;m voting for Harry%26#39;s Bishops Corner in West Hartford. And I speak from experience having been to all of the New Haven pizza places several times. Anyone else?

Best Pizza in CT?

I haven%26#39;t been to Harry%26#39;s but I love all the pizza places in New Haven! Is Harry%26#39;s a thin, fire oven pizza?

...or even wood fired oven pizza...

I believe that its just an oven, no wood. Here is a link to their menu: http://www.harrysbc.com/files/togo108.pdf

I live within 5 min. of Harry%26#39;s Bishop%26#39;s Corner and regularly enjoy their offerings but I still crave New Haven pies and will drive to Manchester for Pepe%26#39;s.

I haven%26#39;t been able to bring myself to get a Pepe%26#39;s pizza in Manchester yet. Something about getting a New Haven staple in Manchester doesnt feel right. Ive heard they taste the same though. I think Harry%26#39;s is better because of the crust and toppings. Harry%26#39;s pizza slices are solid and you can pick them right off the plate w/o any fork %26amp; knife action like you need for a Pepe%26#39;s pizza slice. Although the toppings on the Italian bomb at Modern Apizza in New Haven are just without words.

I%26#39;m not very close to New Haven but recently tried Pepe%26#39;s in Fairfield. I was...underwhelmed. Granted, I didn%26#39;t try their famous white clam pizza, just the regular cheese.

The best pizza I%26#39;ve had was at Sal%26#39;s Pizzeria in Mamaroneck, New York. Anyone ever been?

I love D%26#39;Amico%26#39;s Slice of Italy in Litchfield. It has even been written up in the NY Times. I have tasted Pepe%26#39;s in New Haven, Modern Pizza and York Pizza in New Haven. They are all pretty good, but I really like the sauce at D%26#39;Amico%26#39;s. It is sooooo fresh and, dare I say, better than almost all of the pizza I had in Italy. (My favorite being a peasant type pizza, no sauce, just olive oil, cheese and spices in Foggia).

Pepe%26#39;s, IMO, has gone down hill the past couple years, very inconsistent. Modern on State St in New Haven is superior to Pepe. When I can%26#39;t get into Modern, my backup place is Mike%26#39;s in West Haven. Very good substitute.
