Union Station or State Street

We are traveling into New York City via train from New Haven. While looking up trains, I wasn%26#39;t sure which one is better to leave from, or are they in the same vicinity.

Thanks for the help!!

Union Station or State Street

I think you want Union Station. It%26#39;s the main train station in New Haven.

Union Station or State Street

They are in the same vicinity - the State ST. station is a newer station.

Union Station most definitely for parking and much better train options.

Is overnight parking permitted?

Yes, overnight parking is permitted. But, bear in mind, that the parking lots fills up very early in the am, especially during the week.

What worked for us is we parked it later in the day 7:30pm on a Sunday night....the garage was 75%empty.We chose to park right at the top in the open (no clear advantage really, just a quirk of mine). When we picked up at 7 am on a Wed morning the garage appeared 90% full. You pay before picking up the car at the automated machines inside (where the stairs are)...can use a credit card. Signs say 15 day parking is max (unless prior arrangement made)

Please ignore my previous post. I inadvertently replied thinking of Union Station in Washington DC. I have never parked in New Haven overnight but my son has. It is a very busy parking lot and often full on weekday mornings.
