Closest Waterpark near Mystic?

Are there any waterparks close to Mystic, but towards NYC (as opposed to Boston/Providence). We are coming up from NY for one night and would like to do in waterpark the 2nd day before going back if there is anything close by, but closer to NYC.

If there is none, what are the nicest beaches close-by (also towards NYC).

there is a very very small water park just over the line in RI on route 2. i would suggest going to one of the area beachs instead.

In new London - Ocean State Beach has a beautiful beach, a few water slides, a pool, an arcade - it would be heading towards NYC

I have seen commericals for Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT. I have never been there though. They claim to be the biggest waterpark in CT.

I would say ocean beach is ok, a bit run down, hit the Dinosaur Park in Chesterfield/ Montville. Much fun for kids or Six Flags up near springfield.
