spending 2 nights in Foxwood early May

Hi we will be on our way to a wedding at west point and so we are flying into Prov. RI and spending a Weds and Thursday night at Foxwood in the Pequot Tower. What can anyone tell us about this place. We have had many trips to LV and Atlantic city so with will be a first for us.

What are your favorite places to eat at foxwood,

we will have a car, so is it worth it to go the 20 miles to the other place up the road, Mohician?

Is 2 nights long enough to enjoy this place. we are slots players, do they have the new interactive type of slots or only the old fashioned ones we find at the tampa bay reservation in Fla. which is were we are from.

thanks for any info.

Foxwoods (and Mohegan Sun) have newer slots than both Atlantic City and Las Vegas. We%26#39;ve found that the 2 casinos in CT will have new slots weeks before they%26#39;ll have them in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Foxwoods is the largest casino in the world and has a huge selection of slots, video poker and table games. Mohegan is smaller, but has just as large of a selection of games. Both properties have interactive video slots, older reel slots, and video keno.

Mohegan is 20 minutes, not 20 miles, from Foxwoods and it is well worth the trip. We prefer Mohegan to Foxwoods actually. Better comps, better dining, better shopping, not as smoky. Dining at Foxwoods is good. We like the Hard Rock Cafe, the Stadium sports bar and the Cedar Steakhouse. Mystic II is right down the street on Route 2 and is some of the very best pizza you will ever eat.

Rooms at the Grand Pequot are very nice. Large and well furnished. Bathroom is kind of small, but has great toiletries. Rooms are Mohegan are nicer. 2 nights is definitely enough to enjoy Foxwoods and Mohegan. They are huge properties, but easily covered in a day or two.

Diva 21 thanks so much. we are really looking forward to this trip and it seems like so long to wait. we appreciate all the tips and will try the restaurants you mentioned. Thanks again

I know you%26#39;ll have a great time and be awed when you see the size of the place. The spa at Foxwoods is excellent as well.

Good luck!

They are both good- I think one days in each is more than enough. I found that the service is better at the Mohegan Buffets compared to Foxwoods Buffett- that one can get to be a zoo outside. The casinos are comparable, they both have all kinds of slots. Foxwoods has a better Keno bar. Mohegan actually has a little mini mall which is fun to poke around- Foxwoods has a nice native american shop with crafts etc. One of them actually has a museum that you do have to pay admission to- have never been.

I prefer Foxwoods to Mohegan, though both are good. The Pequot Tower rooms are nice. I do have to disagree with the post that stated the bathrooms are small. The room we stayed in had a large bathroom, which was very nice. The room was also good size. We found that room service was right on time and it was good. We like the buffet at Foxwoods but the line can be very long. If you want a casual meal, you can take the escalator downstairs to a restaurant down there (I forgot the name). The esclator is right by where you get off the elevator from the Pequot Tower rooms.

Since you will have a car, you might want to go down to Mystic one day. It is really nice there with lots of things to do.

Go down to Mohegan during the day, the desk at Foxwoods will give you directions. There are a lot more shops and sights there. But for gambling stick to Foxwoods(make sure you get a Wampum card). If you like poker the room at Foxwoods is great. Even Bingo at Foxwoods can be some cheap fun. Great time to go during the week as you won%26#39;t be forced to only $25-$50 tables like on the weekend. My one suggestion is to self-park as both have easily accesible garages because the valet seems to take forever whenever I use it.

Thanks Posters, for the info. good to know about the self parking and other eatery%26#39;s around. It is really fun going to a brand new place, that is only 2 hrs. non stop, from Orlando. We are really hoping to like it as much as we do Vegas, as that trip and all the time changes are long and tough on us.

thanks again

Peace
