Inn at Mystic - Which is the real Inn?

My wife and I are taking the train to Mystic Memorial weekend, well actually in the 26th %26amp; out the 28th. We want to stay near the train station. Although I liked what I read and the price for Whaler%26#39;s Inn, I also really liked the look and in particular the views at Inn at Mystic. I called and they have very attractive rates. Then I read the reviews here on TripAdvisor and it was like two different places. Can anyone give me a recent update? Have they improved any or are they really that inconsistent? Any recommendation as to which room or location at the Inn? East wing? Main bldg? Any recommendation for a BYO restaurant?

Inn at Mystic - Which is the real Inn?

I would stay at the Whalers Inn, its located right in the downtown area. I%26#39;ve lived in this area for my whole life and at one time I believe the Inn was a great place to stay. I haven%26#39;t heard one good thing about it in a long time. Also, the views you see on their website i think are deceiving, it%26#39;s not horrible just not as picturesque.

Rice, Spice and Noodles, right next to the train station is a very good restaurant and I believe still BYOB.

Other restaurants to check out in town, Anthony J%26#39;s, Holmes Street Mystic, Bravo (right next to Whalers Inn), Azu, a fun Irish pub called the Harp and Hound and the Capt. Daniel Packer Inn.

There%26#39;s also a brand new restaurant in town called The Ancient Mariner, I haven%26#39;t heard any positive comments yet.
