sorry, I just posted this in the wrong forum!

so I%26#39;ll repeat it in case it gets missed.... :)

We are travelling to the USA during September/October this year and plan to visit in Fairfield, CT for about 3 days. My problem is finding accomodation. Fairfield itself has very little to offer - from what my friend has said over the years and looking at the map I thought maybe Bridgeport as it is reasonably close and a larger town, but the reviews for two hotels on here are just awful. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Hartford looks quite a distance away for daily commute.

Wherever we stay we will be using public transport to get to Fairfield as the friend I am visiting does not drive and it is not convenient to stay there. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Fairfield has a new Best Westen inn I think its called the Black Rock inn has gotten very good commets. The Holiday Inn in Bridgeport is OK but not great. The Trumbull Marriot is very nice. Other area to look in might be Shelton on the RT 8 Coridor nice Hilton Garden Inn very new and not to far from Fairfield.

Also, if you%26#39;re depending on public transport, you may want to stay at a hotel in Norwalk and take the commuter train, Metro North to the Fairfield station. Find out from you friend which end of Fairfield she%26#39;s in - down by the water, or up North.

Thanks snowman and winnie ...... I%26#39;m finalising my plans this week so all your comments are really appreciated.
