Parking in Mystic

Some of the B %26amp;B%26#39;s we are interested in are not within a walking distance of the attractions so we would have to drive there. How is the parking? Would we have any difficulty finding spots in the summer?

I%26#39;m sorry to tell you, but you will have lots of difficulty finding parking in the summer in Mystic. It%26#39;s a small town with narrow streets. I wouldn%26#39;t even suggest bringing bicycles either as traffic gets extremely heavy in Mystic during the summer and there are no specific bike paths.

Only one place in Mystic I can think of where you can park your car and take in an attrraction then walk to do some shopping, and that is Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Village. They are located next to each other just off I-95. The Aquarium has had extensive rennovations in the past 5 years, and the village is a replication of a New England village, with lots of different shops. (Across from Mystic VIllage is also an outlet shopping center)

Thanks Ctrivervalleygirl. What about going to the Seaport to see the ships? Is it difficult to park in that area as well?

We%26#39;re trying to save a little $$ by staying outside of Mystic, but if it isn%26#39;t worth it we may decide not to do that. Thanks for your help!

Don%26#39;t listen to that other poster he%26#39;s confussing downtown Mystic with the tourist area. The Seaport has two very large parking lots and never fills even a summer holidays. The Aquarium has one large lot and a small over flow lot this does fill on holiday weekend but you can park across the driveway in the Mystic Village Shopping center,use the crosswalk! The Village parking lot close to i95 has the most parking on a busy weekend. Downtown has a couple of small public parking lots most oviously by the downtown water front park. Some but not all of the bussiness have parking for there customers only strictly inforced! On street parking can be hard if you don%26#39;t know the town very well. Best way to visit downtown is to park at the seaport and walk very prety easy walk. In summer a trolly bus runs a lope around town as well
