Danielson & Dayville CT

Hi!

I need help. I am looking to see a concert at the Riverdale in Danielson, CT. The closest hotel I found was in Dayville at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel %26amp; Suites Killingly. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is 3* or tell me if this Holiday Inn is a good and safe place to stay?

How is Danielson, CT as a town? Safe?

I think the holiday inn is by far your best bet in the area. danielson is a tiny town......im sure if you lived in some of the lesser areas of town crime might be an issue but if you are staying at the holiday inn (in an even more rural area well outside of %26#39;town%26#39;) you will be totally and completely safe.

What is the riverdale? I have never even heard of it.

I live in Vermont which has almost no crime so I wanted to make sure I wasn%26#39;t walking into something uncomfortable.

Any other thoughts? So you think the Holiday Inn would be safe?

Hi - we used to live in Danielson. It is a small mill town that has seen better days. If you are concerned about crime - it is certainly no ';Hartford'; as far as danger. We never locked our doors but did see some annoyances from local kids. If you want a really *nice* place to stay - try the B%26amp;B%26#39;s in nearby Pomfret. Otherwise there is nothing really remarkable within 30 minutes of town. The Holiday Inn is just the newest building. Good luck.

HI - Holiday Inn should be safe. I haven%26#39;t been to that club. The people out there are usually pretty nice so you should be alright. Can I ask - is this a ';Grateful Dead'; kinda band? Most of the clubs out there feature that kind of music. My brother in law is really into it.

The show has a Pantera cover band that night. A bit different then Grateful Dead!! We are going to the Warped Tour at the Tweeter Center the night before and were looking for something to do the next night! Do you live close to Danielson?

LOL - Sorry! Very cool - Pantera cover band - didn%26#39;t know there was such a thing. My son would love it.

OK - you%26#39;ll probably want to eat closer to the Tweeter center - not much in Danielson. And if you just planning to crash at the Holiday Inn after the show - it will be fine for that. Zip%26#39;s Diner on Rt. 6 is close to everything where you%26#39;ll be and it%26#39;s great for breakfast. Sometime%26#39;s it%26#39;s featured in that cartoon ';Zippy the Pinhead';.

We live about an hour away from there now. Closer to Hartford and a lot more ';culture'; - Danielson is actually a really quiet town. You should be fine.
