New here, Anniversary suggestions? Thanks!

We are looking for a place to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary which is the end of August 2008.

We moved to Albany NY from the midwest only a couple months ago and are not very familiar with the northeast, so suggestions are greatly appreciated!

DH HATES B%26amp;B%26#39;s but we both enjoy small inns as well as larger properties.

We are looking for privacy and a great mountain / valley view.DH loves the mountains in NY, VT, NH, CT, MA.Of course, the ocean would be awesome but I know we won%26#39;t find anything in our budget on the beach in August!

We%26#39;d most like either a very nice, well appointed inn with a beautiful room, view and grounds OR a sweet, well located cabin / cottage.

Unfortunately, moving to New York from the midwest has put a dent in our finances so over-the-top is out-of-the-question, but we don%26#39;t mind a bit of a splurge for our anniversary-

I’m not sure what your definition of “over the top” is, but we thoroughly enjoyed our April 2008, anniversary weekend stay in the Tower Room at the Inn at Ormsby Hill in Manchester, VT (we’d also stayed in the Taft Suit previously).
