Hartford Airport to NYC bus or train

I have read the helpful entries re transport from Hartford to NYC.If we are leaving our rental car at the airport in Hartford which would be more convenient for departure point - Peter Pan Bus or AMTRAK? Any directions from Airport please?

I have never taken the train or bus from Hartford. But i would think that you would be better driving to a train station in Bridgeport or Stamford then leaving from hartford. You can leave your rental car right there and jump on a train to NYC. I would think that it would be alot easier and take less time then going from Hartford. If you could, check into Bridgeport or Stamford train stations... it would just be faster.

The ';Hartford Airport'; is named Bradley International and is about 12 - 15 miles north of Hartford (between Hartford and Springfield, Massachusetts). Amtrak does have a stop in Windsor Locks (the town in which the airport is located, but the stop is not at the airport). Peter Pan may as well, but I am not sure. You could also take a taxi to Hartford and leave from there (bus and train leave from the same place in downtown Hartford). The bus will be cheaper, Amtrak will be more comfortable

Thanks very much for this helpful advice. The car rental company does have an office in Stamford so we will take the train to NYC from there. Is that a metro train or an AMTRAK service?

That is Metro North from Stamford. Much easier. Good Luck!
