Upscale family reunion near water?

Hi-

My family is celebrating my parents%26#39; 50th anniversary with a mini-reunion in August. Some of my family tend to be a bit high-maintenance, so I need a very nice place, preferably on some kind of lake or water for the gang. We have 3 year old twins so it needs to be appropriate for all ages. We were going to do Mohonk Mtn House but just heard about the crazy set of stairs to the water. Don%26#39;t think my folks or my kids could safely handle it. Anywhere in New England or NY or therabouts would be fine. Suggestions? Anyone know about Interlaken Inn in Lakeville,CT? It got extremely mixed reviews...so I%26#39;m confused.

Thanks!!!

Annie

How about the Boulders Inn. Haven%26#39;t stayed there, but the dining is excellent and it%26#39;s a beautiful property.

We%26#39;ve had several great family events at Waters Edge Resort in Westbrook, CT. Although it has been awhile since the last one, there%26#39;s another one in the works for July. Everything has always been nice there, and the view of Long Island Sound is great (as the name suggests, the resort is right on the beach). There%26#39;s also easy parking right next to the restaurant (a big lot) which makes it more convenient for older people/kids to get around.

I think we may have also had something a long time ago at Saybrook Point, which is just one town over. But I don%26#39;t really recall.

Good luck!

I don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;ve had any luck with the replies you%26#39;ve already had. but Skytop Resort in PA was just recommended to me by a neighbor. www.skytop.com

Lake Compounce in Bristol Ct is a lot of fun!

Lake Compounce is a fun family park, but it is hardly an upscale destination!
