Staying near but not in Mystic

We have a wedding in Mystic on a July weekend. We can%26#39;t stay 2 nights and would like to know of a recommendation for a nice place to stay nearby (within 25 minutes drive or so) that might allow for one night and be very clean. Many places look nice in Stonington but all require 2 night minimum. We%26#39;d love to get off the beaten path.

You%26#39;re correct. Summer is high-season in Stonington and Mystic, so it will be difficult, if not impossible to find anyplace that will not require a two-night minimum. How about nearby Groton? This is not a summer ';tourist'; area, mind you. More urban. But they%26#39;ve got many of the large hotel chains which may just take a reservation for one night. The drive to Mystic is only about 5 miles - very close by either 95 or backroads. Sorry, but I can%26#39;t think of another nearby town where you could find that type of availability. Good luck

Here are some ideas-

Sometimes if an Inn has in between reservations they will take a one nighter to fill in so I always call to doubke check and not always go by online reservation pages.

If that doesn%26#39;t work try:

Norwich area there is comfort suites nice and comfortable or courtyard by marriot both near 395 and about 1/2 hr away or a little more depending on where your going. Also try the two casinos foxwoods or mohegan, and you could try ledyard or preston close by towns for a B%26amp;B
