Staying at the Mercy Centre for a few days and will likely have evening meal in area before arriving. Appreciate any suggestions near the Centre. Affordable, clean, good food and with a view would be great.
Good eating place with water view?
Drive west to Guilford and down to the waterfront. Good food, great view.

Thanks - had left on trip and only now checking - had a so-so lobster roll at the local seafood takeout. Will note for future reference as had wonderful week here at Mercy by The Sea and hope to return again. As another poster noted this is not a hotel and although Christian based all are welcome. You can see their site for programs etc. Also possible to come for private retreat.
Wondering what weather is like in April here. Realize not summer and beach weather but wondering if good for walking in lighter clothing?
I can specifically recall the weather in April ,...for third or 4th consecutive year , LATE April (3rd or 4th week) was a heat wave!! -
were talkin 70s and one year it was upper 80s for most of that week ... but that followed with 2 months of cloudy and 57 degree days... yep , by July it seems like we were swept right into summer off of winter, forgetting all about that short hot week in April..
...so yeah late April, we hit teaser mode....
the summer temps were here !!!
Thanks for April weather thoughts. If I were to go for month can see the later April to later May period would be best - much like here in Ottawa. Experienced wonderful weather the week in Madison - not too hot or humid and lots of sunshine. Took the coastal route from there to second week in Cape Cod and enjoyed seeing the CT coast.
Think there is a ferry to Long Island - the Sag Harbor area - from CT and wondered if anyone familiar with it ie lineups etc in summer. Have driven via NYC route that is very traffic intensive so might consider the CT ferry another time.
Regarding taking a ferry to Long Island, NY, there is a ferry that leaves New London, CT, and arrives at Orient Point, NY. Orient Point is not really within walking distance to Sag Harbor, so you%26#39;d have to drive to Sag Harbor. Another ferry is between Bridgeport, CT, and Port Jefferson, NY. That ferry is located more towards NYC but it helps by-pass all the NYC traffic.
Bah, but save yourself the snooty rude attitude and expensive digs of the Hamptons. Just stay here in Connecticut. Many CT residents don%26#39;t bother going to the Hamptons because we have such a nice shoreline here.
