traving from D.C. to N.H need a good place to stay i

Hi We are travling from D.C. to Lincoln, NH and need to find a suite hotel inbetween. Somewhere right after New York but in CT I am from California and don%26#39;t know the state at all. I don%26#39;t know if we should stay in White Plains or Waterbury or any suggestion would be wonderful. Please i need your help. Although i was told not to stay in Hartford. Don%26#39;t know why I have never been there. Thanks Mary

I wouldn%26#39;t really stay in Waterbury either. Danbury, CT is right over the NY border and there many hotels off exits 2-3 making it easy to get off the highway and easy to get back on. For example, the Sheraton or the Marriott SpringHill Suites on Ridgebury Rd, Hilton Garden Inn on Mill Plain Rd. There%26#39;s many restaurants and also the Danbury Fair Mall within minutes. Good luck.

If you%26#39;re traveling the I-684 to I-84 (which I suggest if you%26#39;re near a rush hour) then Danbury is good suggestion. You might look at Comfort Suites, Wellesley Inn and Suites, or Springhill Suites there. If you%26#39;re taking I-95 into Connecticut consider Homestead Studio Suites in Norwalk or Springhill Suites in Milford. There is no reason to avoid Hartford other than it may be a little farther than you want to drive.

I really appriciate your respones. They are very helpfull espeically when you feel as lost as I was. I will check into all the suggested places.

Depends on which way you are travelling - if you are coming up 95 or the Merritt, then I would highly recommend the hampton Inn in Milford - clean, comfy, easy access, and usually good rates -

Hi I think we are taking the 85 I guess i need to pick a city first and then i thinkit will be easy to pick a hotel. It%26#39;s not know what city to pick is my dilema. I want soemthing nice, pretty, scenic, something the kids will remember or at least I will remember. THanks again.

Stayed in Wallingford, CT last fall. Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott I-95 exit 15. Good and clean. And safe.

Right across the street is the Fairfield Inn. Looked to have been just as clean. And safe

Courtyard 1-203-284-9400 or 1-800-321-2211

Fairfield Inn 203-284-0001

Good Luck

Was it nice and senic and a fun place for my three kids. If so I would love to stay there. thanks Mary

Wallingford is not that scenic! If you want really scenic, continue to drive up 95 to the Mystic area - there is a seaport, an aquarium, the Native American Museum, and casinos within easy access.

Milford has a large shopping mall with a movie theater and there is an arcade / batting cage place as well.

You%26#39;ll have a long drive getting up the New Jersey Turnpike,

I recommend Stopping somewhere between Stanford and Norwalk,

.... I say get off exit 13 - about 30 mins into Connecticut

...................AND when in CT and stay at the Doubletree....

..................AND here the Hotel%26amp; website:

http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/index.do;jsessionid=O150VZ2SCY3TCCSGBJC3MQQ

Exit 13 (easy on easy off)

789 Connecticut Ave

Norwalk, CT

Phone: (203) 853-3477

...................AND catch the I-95 TRAFFIC CAMs in CT
