I was planning on going away for a weekend in the Connecticut area and was considering going to either Foxwoods or the Mohegan Sun. I was wondering which place would be more pleasant in reference to the accomodations, entertainment, clubs, dinning, etc. If anyone who has stayed at both places can make a recommendation it would be appreciated
Foxwooods or Mohegan Sun?
If you type in Foxwoods and or Mohegan Sun in the search field box you%26#39;ll find info on your question.
Foxwooods or Mohegan Sun?
Hi!
I recommend a visit to the Mohegan Sun exhibit about the life of this Native American tribe on the shores of Connecticut. Tastefully put together and very well documented. Put aside at least two hours to enjoy all exhibits and a movie presentation.
Enjoy!
PS: Is your nick inspired by the opera ';La fanciulla dil West? My parents used to love italian opera.
Foxwoods.
I say stay home %26amp; save your money ;-)
Mohegan Sun for entertainmet Wed night fireworks are great and try to catch a suns basketball game.
Foxwoods has the indien museum a must visit . Gambling is much better at foxwoods. live bingo and poker more table games.
Like Mohegan Sun much more--great architecture and love the way the designed the place. Plus, I don%26#39;t find it as confusing as Foxwoods. The hotel is great too.
I agree with minivanmom.
When we visited both casinos we had no intention of gambling ANY money. We were there just for curiosity. The whole thing felt artificial. I imagine Las Vegas is the same. Mostly old folks smoking like crazy and wasting their pension and social security money away. I%26#39;d rather be in the mountains Out West.
The architecture is fine, I guess, but the indian museum was the only thing we really liked.
Exactly Mustang!
Can%26#39;t understand howpeople get excited over that. But, to each his/her own I guess.
My hsuband and I went to Mohegna Sun ONCE. As you said, just out of curiosity.
Pretty inside, loves the color scheme, etc but have no plans on returning anytime soon.
Did you check out the shops? We had more fun walking around The Discovery Channel Store as well as that store with all the old memorabalia from the 60%26#39;s etc.
Not into %26#39;blowing%26#39; the money my husband works too hard for. Many more important things to spend it on.......
Amazing how many people were there cashing checks, using the ATM machines, etc. WOW
Guess we%26#39;re just not the gambling type :-)

Hi, vanmom!
Yes, we checked the stores. Is that 60%26#39;s memorabilia place where you enter the store under a huge acuarium? Or is it some other store. We loved that. Also, the ';ambiance'; effect they have in one of the bars, with the clouds and the breeze overhead. That was pretty original. As for the rest...well, you know.
Take care.
Minivanmom, was it the Farmers Almanac store you%26#39;re talking about? I LOVE that shop.
I used to go exclusively to foxwoods, but the bigger they get the cheaper they get with their comps and the tighter they get with their machines and we%26#39;ve been treated very rudely last couple of times we were there. We had reservations one night and they had some kind of anniversary promotion going on and we couldn%26#39;t even valet park at the hotel - even though we had a room AND we got there early!! We had to drive over to one of the parking lots and take a shuttle with our luggage to the hotel...they are AWFUL lately.
Mohegan is prettier, more friendly, and more generous!
good luck!
