I will be on vacation in CT in September and plan to visit NYC by train.
I have emailed railroad@townofstratford.com for clarification of parking rules at Stratford Station on weekends. They didn%26#39;t reply.
Can anyone clarify rules regarding which parking bays can be used at the station on weekends and whether there is a charge for day parking Saturday or Sunday. The stratford website implies that there is no charge weekends but the day parking rules are not at all clear.
Any info welcome.

I have parked for free at Milford, but that was a couple of years ago. New Haven has paid parking and a garage
Park-n-ride Stratford CTThe web site says
For those parking without permits, a limited number of daily parking spaces are available in the rear of the lot at a cost of $5.00 per day. Parking is free of charge on Weekdays after 12:00 p.m. and all day on Weekends.
Which i would read to mean that most spots at the station are for permit holders. If you are a non-permit holder and get to the station after noon then you can park for free in a non-permit space but those might all be taken by that time of day.
I know in fairfield (a station a few stops closer to NYC than stratford) spaces marked for permit parking only are open to non-permit holders on the weekends and weekend parking is free.
The signs at the station will most likely explain which spaces you can use when.
Thanks to you both for your advice.
I will read the signs very very carefully.

The parking rules are in effect Mon - Friday - Due to the high volume of commuters, you would have difficulty finding parking on a weekday at the Station - if you are travelling to NY during the week, you would be better off driving to Bridgeport and taking the train from there - you can park your car at the Harbor Yard.
On the weekend, you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem parking at the station.
