Any good places to kayak - mystic, uncasville, casino areas? Not sea kayaking - maybe ponds(large) or rivers or lakes???? (Good Fishing too)
kayaking
I know you can kayak on the Mystic River, but haven%26#39;t done it myself. The only place I%26#39;ve gone on the shore it in Old Saybrook. Very nice kayaking there. There is a lighthouse on the CT river that makes for a great photo op.
kayakingIf anyone has knowledge of put-ins on the ct. river, it weould be great. Thanks
This is a start, it has info on the Mystic launch site. It says sea kayak, but many are rivers. I have other links on my computer at home. I%26#39;ll send them later.

This site should about it do. Like I said I have detailed info at home though. The north/south cove of Old Saybrook make for nice paddeling though.

I think that the first site is what you%26#39;re looking for. Best luck.
thanks johnrd216-fantastic info.Tubed the farmington river one cold, drizzly day a few years back- I think I got frostbite throughout my whole body - it was the coldest water my fanny ever tubed in.
Ya, tubing the Farmington river can be tough on the fanny especially if the river is low. As it is I think I%26#39;ve lost 10% of the bottom of my kayak b/c of the rocks. Have fun. -John
