Beach near Greenwich, Old Greenwich or Stamford
There are a number of public beaches in both Greenwich (which includes Old Greenwich) and Stamford. Passes are required for Greenwich beaches from 1 May to 31 October; in Stamford from 26 May to 31 October. In both places there are fees which can be hefty for non-residents (I don%26#39;t know whether there is a break for multi-day entry or if you are staying at a hotel/inn). Basic fees and rules are outlines on the town/city websites. All the beaches are open year round.
Beach near Greenwich, Old Greenwich or Stamfordthere is a beach in each of these towns. stamford is the least attractive of the three, as the beach is kind of dirty from seagulls dropping shells everywhere. there is also a lot of geese that poop all over the place. the beach is accessible year round but you will need a resident beach sticker from memorial day through labor day. also, there are no amenities available outside the summer season - no food or entertainment or a lifeguard. the beach in greenwich, todd%26#39;s point, is very beautiful and well maintained. you may be able to get a day pass, call the town hall to get more details. unsually it%26#39;s only for the residents for the summer season.
Also, be aware that the beaches are on Long Island sound, not the ocean - if you want the Ocean, you are better off heading to Long Island or Coney Island.
There is also Sherwood Island State Park in Westport -
